About Me

Hey there! I’m Aiko Tanaka (田中愛子), your friendly guide to learning Japanese without the stress! I know firsthand that learning Japanese can feel exciting but also a little overwhelming at first. There’s so much to take in—hiragana, katakana, kanji, particles, grammar rules, and honorifics—it can seem like an endless puzzle with missing pieces. But don’t worry, you’re not alone!

If you’ve ever thought:
💭 “I want to learn Japanese, but where do I even start?!”
💭 “Kanji looks like ancient wizard symbols… help??”
💭 “Why are there THREE writing systems? Who decided this!?”
💭 “I just wanted to watch anime without subtitles… why is this so hard?”

Then you’re in the right place! 😆

I created Japanese Language Lessons because I know that learning a new language isn’t just about memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules—it’s about discovering a whole new way of thinking, communicating, and even seeing the world.

How I Ended Up Here

I was born and raised in Osaka, Japan, where I grew up surrounded by anime, takoyaki, and the loudest, most fun-loving people you’ll ever meet. 🇯🇵 But it wasn’t until I started tutoring Japanese learners that I realized something…

Japanese can be REALLY overwhelming at first. And I get it. The grammar rules seem upside down, kanji feels like a secret code, and don’t even get me started on keigo (the ultra-polite way of speaking). 😅

But here’s the thing: learning Japanese doesn’t have to be hard or boring. So, I created Japanese Language Lessons to help learners like YOU break through the confusion and actually enjoy the process.

What You’ll Find Here

👉 Easy-to-follow lessons (no overwhelming textbooks!).
👉 Language hacks that make Japanese feel way more natural.
👉 Kanji tricks so you don’t have to memorize a billion characters the hard way.
